Muslim women can be recognized from what they wear. The Muslim women will be recognized while wearing hijab to cover their hair and wearing long clothes to cover their body, usually called baju kurung. Many trends for the clothes of Muslims are hits nowadays, especially for women. The Muslim women’s style is being concerned in society. The data of theconversation.com (2019) explained their survey in 2014 that was around 63,58% of 626 Muslim women respondents already wore hijab and only 4,31% of women respondents would not wear hijab. From it, it can be seen that the increase of women who wear hijab got a big deal in wearing hijab.

It gave different perceptions in the past few years from the society which made the hijab style was monotone.

The development of the hijab style in fashion is amazing. It becomes a trend that makes Muslim women are being more consumptive. There is a reason behind it. In 2011, there is a hijab community that exists in the fashion industry in Indonesia such as Great Muslimah, Syar’i Life Style, Indonesia Hijab Bloggers, Hijab Speak, and Hijaber United. They give the new paradigm to society that the hijab can be stylish and fashionable, but it still obeys the norm of Islam. Because of the hijab community, the hijab becomes more popular in fashion and becomes the lifestyle of Muslim women in Indonesia.

There are three kinds of hijab styles in Indonesia, they are:

1. Simple hijab

This hijab size is short, the size length up to shoulder only. It has many colors and styles. This kind of style is so popular and used by around 70% of Muslim women. The simple hijab style can be wear for some occasions, such as going to campus, chilling with friends, hang out in a cafe, and etc.

2. Syar'i Hijab

This hijab is wide and covered the top of the body. The colors of this hijab usually white, black, and brown. However, some of the women wear any colors they like to wear. Most people called it as Hijab Syar’I, based on Islam’s rule. This kind of hijab style is used around 10% by Muslimah in Indonesia. This style can be wear on any occasion, such as in Muslimah gathering, going to campus, and etc.
